Venue: Maestranza Chinchorro. | The site sits along the historic Arica–La Paz Railway, a landmark engineering project that symbolizes Chile’s commitment to the 1904 Treaty of Peace and Friendship with Bolivia. Built more than a century ago, the railway’s design and construction overcame the extreme climatic and geographic challenges of the Andes. It was inaugurated in Arica on May 13, 1913, and handed over to Bolivia in 1928, as stipulated in Article 3 of the treaty, which granted Bolivia ownership of its section of the line, leaving both countries with autonomous administration of their respective segments.
