Founded in Arica, Hidrodesierto SpA was born with a bold mission: to revolutionize food production in extreme environments using renewable energy and proprietary hydroponic systems. From day one, the company has focused on delivering sustainable, high-efficiency solutions for desert agriculture—facing formidable challenges such as validating its technology and securing the right commercial partners.

A major milestone this year was Hidrodesierto’s debut at MacFrut 2025 in Rimini, Italy—its first international showcase. The experience posed not only technical challenges but also linguistic ones. Thanks to training at the English Teachers Academy by Anglo-Saxon, I was able to confidently pitch our value proposition in English to potential global partners and clients.

MacFrut was a turning point. Beyond presenting our system, we discovered strong international demand for modular, customizable agricultural solutions. We’re now working to package our hydroponic system for deployment across a range of crops—tailored to the unique needs of each customer.
